The Court of Honor
Courts of Honor are among the most formal meetings in the troop’s year. Because of the special nature of the ceremony, we normally hold it inside the Church sanctuary or at a special outdoors/offsite location selected to be a meeting place in keeping with the occasion.
Scouts should wear their best Class A uniform with all the “bling:” the merit badge sash, the most recent rank insignia, Scout socks and the patch representing your troop or patrol office.
Parents of New Scouts:
• If your son is missing a patch or insignia for their first Court of Honor, you don’t need to rush to the Scout store at the last minute. Just have him wear the best of what he has.
• If your Scout doesn’t have a Boy Scout uniform yet, a collared shirt and a nice pair of pants would be appropriate.
If you have earned a bolo through NYLT (Nagatamen or Eagle Feather), you should wear it.
This is not an OA event. Wearing your OA sash would NOT be appropriate.
Finally, congratulations in advance! The troop will award many advancements in rank, merit badges and special honors. Well done!
